  • Job Description

    We are looking for a skilled Purchase Assistant Manager/Manager to join our team in the manufacturing or auto ancillary unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, supplier management, and import documentation, ensuring efficient and cost-effective purchasing operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Procurement & Sourcing:
      • Maintain and enforce the purchasing policy, ensuring all purchases adhere to organizational standards.
      • Source and procure raw materials, machinery spares, and other necessary items from both domestic and overseas suppliers.
      • Manage supplier negotiations to secure the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
    • Import Documentation & Compliance:
      • Handle all import-related documentation, including RFQ, quotations, purchase orders, sales invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
      • Oversee customs clearance, freight forwarding, and ensure all regulatory compliance during the import process.
    • Supplier Performance Evaluation:
      • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery time, and price competitiveness.
      • Ensure suppliers meet the company’s expectations and maintain strong relationships for continued collaboration.
    • Budgeting & Cost Management:
      • Collaborate with management to prepare budgets for procurement activities and monitor expenses.
      • Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring the quality and timeliness of supplies.
    • Internal Coordination:
      • Liaise with the accounting, manufacturing, and stock departments to ensure timely and accurate procurement.
      • Provide support in resolving issues related to inventory or supplier performance.
    • Documentation & Reporting:
      • Maintain records of all procurement transactions and ensure the smooth flow of information within the company.
      • Prepare reports related to purchase orders, supplier performance, and cost analysis for senior management.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience: 5 to 6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the manufacturing or auto ancillary industry.
    • Skills:
      • Proficient in procurement processes, negotiation, and import documentation.
      • Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
      • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and ERP systems (SAP).
      • Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and cost management.
    • Preferred: Experience with import procedures for raw materials, machinery spares, tooling, and capital items is an advantage.
